I'm back. lol I lost internet access for a while there.
Today I think I'll talk about something no man will ever completely understand. SHOPPING!
Like most guys I never understood how chicks could spend all day shopping, spend $100 on shoes, more on lingerie, and similar things.
When I logged on to SL I looked like a newbie. Everyone does when they first start out of course, but few stay that way for very long. Even for those that don't want to put any real world money into their Second Life there are freebies everywhere. Merchants and designers often offer items for free (or for1L, roughly a third of a cent) as a way of both helping newbies "denoob" and as a way of advertising. The items usually come with a "landmark" that allows you to teleport directly to their main store.
There's only one problem.
There's just so much to choose from. Not all of it very good. But for the bargain shopper there's lots of great stuff lying around if you know where to look and are willing to dig through the junk. Within a few days I had a small wardrobe that i would actually wear, and a MUCH larger collection of junk that I kept forgetting to get rid of. I had turned into a shopaholic.
Frankly I don't see it as a problem on SL. It lead me to get an in-world job as a stripper at the club I mentioned in my last post, which resulted in me being able to buy better looking stuff. The most i've spent on an outfit is about 700L (about $2.63, yes I did the math lol) all of which was earned in-world by showing off my naked avi. :)
It's still a mystery why someone would spend $300 for designer shoes in real life. But I'm really starting to understand part of why girl spend so much time shopping. It's a social thing. And it keeps us looking great! hehe
bye for now.
